That puts a different light on things. Your British, you come home and they want to know the ins and outs of a cats backside. Now, if you were Polish, Latvian etc... Different story altogether. We had some of that on returning from Canada.
The new children's blockbuster, Keeper of the Enchanted Pool, available soon from all major online retailers.

Thank you for the FW review on Wags. All points are valid and constructive. I know that it’s a flimsy, frivolous bit of nonsense and not the best thing I’ve done but I had to get some feedback before I scrap it. As I was only expecting a review on one or t’other, I was surprised that you attempted to review Husbands as well, which I would like to believe is the better of the two. This thank you was inadvertantly posted on the Place Where everyone knows you as well.

Endogamia! Now there’s a word to conjure with! Thank you Andrew for a far too generous FW review and no, Wags is most certainly not autobiographical! Written under the influence of a few glasses of Merlot a little alliteration re the names Rachel, Robyn and Rebecca seemed perfectly acceptable. Somehow Roxanne, Rosalind, Rosemary and Ruthie eluded me. But that’s how it goes when the cork’s out of the bottle! On a more serious note, was it you or someone else who once recommended a website on punctuation to me? RM

Your third paragraph summed it all up, confirming a conclusion that I was (slowly!) coming to. I know myself that some of the dialogue is clumsy (I take it ,your 'climsy' was a 'typo') I think somwhere Penderton remarks that it will take his life time to read - exactly the point you made.
Thanks again. Sapper

Yes, we must hope that some of the 'squatters' will see and take heed.

But sadly, although the market for novels is still good, for shorts it has already disappeared in printed form. When I worked on Women's Mags in the 80s and 90s, every magazine had 2 fiction slots (a short and a serial) and one had 4. Now none of the weeklies have any - it's all celebrity claptrap. I despair!

It is taking me a couple of minutes to access a page, so if that is what you mean then yes I am having the same problem. I too thought it was my computer but other sites seem to be working fine

Not sure I am ready for the YWO version of the full monty

I'll check out your link, but the situation is I have been out of the country for nearly a decade and when I came back, I was classed as self employed paying Class 2 and 4 NIC. Neither of those entitles me to Job Seekers Allowance and my wife is in full time work so I don't get any other benefits.

Just the way of the world I'm afraid.

Thanks to the above for the Pay Pal advice, I will check that out later.

Recession - from their point of view, would be a shortage of new Harry Potters, Jade Goody type autobiographes and of course celebrity cookbooks. From our PoV? - maybe less people who like reading a good story. Plod on anyway...
OMG write the review already!

Hi Karen, thank you so much for your wonderful review and bunch of 5's. It really cheered me up after the earlier fiasco this week. I'll have a quick look at the things mentioned. In answer to your question, about Ed's hair blowing about on the bike, it wasn't compulsary in those days to wear a helmet and Ed, being a bit of a rebel, would choose not to conform! Good luck with your story. Cheers, Pam.

I don't know about 'enlightened opinion.' Maybe when I've got a book out there in the marketplace and selling multitudes of copy, then I'll qualify. In the meantime I'll wait for your stories to hit my inbox. Some people say I'm quote: 'frank' but I'll give you my honest opinion.

In the meantime thank you for your honest and kind opinions on what for some is a challenging story to accept.

Best wishes

Joe 90
