"Review of The witches' Tree
Hi Jacqui,
I really liked the first three chapters of your book. The story line gripped me as soon as I started reading the prologue, I immediately wanted to know what was going to happen next. Maggie's character is so well described, I can imagine her walking into the bar as she did the pub, uncertain of the people around her due to the shock that she had had. I also like the contrast of her and her friends.
I found as I was reading about her and Ben, I was fingering my engagement ring, that enthralled in the story I didnt realise until my partner told me, its not the style of book that I normally read, I like historical novels and science fiction. But that said, I would buy this book, I'd love to know what happens - especially with the baby.
I think the description is astounding and I can imagine the areas that you are talking about. The only thing I can think that may be an advantage is putting some more dialogue into the first two chapters to help move the story along rather than just what she is thinking about through out ...
