Thanks for your review Matt and welcome to YWO.

I knew it was too good to be true that I'd managed to stay in the Top Ten for the whole month. Don't get me wrong. Your review was definitely fair and any other time wouldn't have bothered me. But why couldn't you be like every else and hold onto my story for days and days before you got around to it? Or at least till Monday?

It's all a game...it's all a game...keep telling yourself, Kate...it's all a game.

Editied to add - Sorry, Matt. Disappointment talking there. I in no way blame you. I could just as well blame myself for eliminating the wrong score when I had the chance (I'll never understand that system) or even the person who gave me the great review that got me the required score in the first place - two days too late to get into last month's Top Ten. As I said, it's a game. Lady luck didn't shine on me.

By the way, I based ' Mack' on my dad. A man more unlike Christopher Lloyd I have yet to meet.

Thanks for the chocolate, HJW. Much appreciated.

Next month? But I've already chewed my nails down to stumps this month! If I chew any more I won't be able to type.

Hi - just read your comment and I'm sorry I disappointed you.

I'm also puzzled because I gave you great scores on everything. As I said at the end my of review, Dragon Box is a damn fine read.

Don't understand how it bumped you out of the top ten either - but then I don't understand the ratings on this site at all. I have another novel on here, under a different name because it's an adult thriller. It shot straight into the top ten for two weeks and then suddenly dropped to the late teens where it now languishes, despite great reviews.

So sorry again if I contributed in some way to your book falling out of the top ten. That was the last thought on my mind because it deserves to be there.

I'm confused. As far as I know you haven't reviewed my story - unless you have two identities on YWO?

Anyway, it's all water under the bridge. I agree, the rating system is impossible to understand. I've had some more really good reviews since then and haven't moved forward at all. Yet one review, which was still a pretty good score, could send me so far backward. Thems the breaks, I guess.

Good luck with your writing.
