I've not been on the Message Boards this weekend.

In case there's any doubt - I asked Ted to remove Johnny's review after reading Ted's post. Jonnny Vee is a great supporter of my writing, and the last thing I wanted to do was let JV know I'd done this.

It backfired, and Ted seems to be getting blamed. Ted in fact also agreed to remove a particularly offensive review full of 1s, so 'thank you Ted'!

Since then, I have had a nasty crit that has mentioned the position in the charts of my book and seems to think that is an acceptable governing factor in how to review.

If any of you answer this post suggesting that I have ever given a dishonest review, I will gladly leave this site. I think also Johnny Vee has been wronged - his enthusiam for my book perhaps led him into not perhaps giving a straight review, but I value his opinion and it's nice to have a genuine fan of my work.

'Genuine' - that's JV through and through. And Ted too. And all of you on the message boards, too. You all put you point of view. Thank God.

My book's just another book. It won't change the world. But people like Johnny, an enthusiast - and the great Ted for that matter - deserve better than this.

Then I owe Ted an apology. Didn't realise he removed JV's review at your request.

Just shows me: ALWAYS TRUST TED.

What are you wittering on about Lawrence? Ted wasn't being 'blamed' for anything, by most members anyway. The vast majority of those who replied to the original post gave him their full support.

What do you think happened here? That YWO management woke up one morning and thought: 'Bloody 'ell!. Look at that review would you? Time for a big messageboard post then. Get the kettle on somebody.'

YWO is renowned for many things but one thing its management is not renowned for is knee-jerk reactions. Far more likely they had been observing 'things' for a while before deciding to fire their warning shot.

Good point, well made.

Thanks for your comments, and thoughts on this. I can see though thoughts are diverse they come from good motives.

We'll best leave this one here in that spirit.

Ahem!

I realize I have come across this more than a bit late, but may the SNaHP point out that the term Perfectly Good Fight has no place here at YWO.

And if you disagree with that may I invite you to step outside so we can discuss it with appropriate vigor?

Odie will referee.

Lawrence,

I want to apologise for my 'wittering on' comment earlier on this thread.

I suspect I may have have misinterpreted events. I have a reactionary mouth on me sometimes which should, on occasion, be sewn shut with sail twine until the head above it thinks through what it is about to utter.

Thank you again for your review of the 'Shoes'. Reading between the lines I feel it may not be your preferred genre, yet to you went to a deal of trouble anyway.

It was appreciated.

There it is.

You talkin' to me?

Are you talkin' to me?

The question is: Should I be talkin' to you?

The other question is: Am I using the colon correctly here?

I asked Odie and he just rolled his eyes and went back to sleep.
