Thanks for clearing that up for me! I have contacted a few other writers I know, and also a writing group. I am joining a new writing group this month when I go back to London so will spread the word to them too!

Hi Rachaelede I've got your book to review by 6 Jan and will do my best to make the deadline.

How fast the new year is going!

Hiya ethelredthebrave! I am pretty sure that I have yours to review too. I go back to London at the weekend so am trying to get as many reviewed before then to get my reading credits up. Did I read somewhere that you live in the states, or was that someone else?

I'm from the U of K, doesn't have as much a ring to it as the U S of A.

Where are you from? Be good if we get all sorts of books on here, start to see how well we translate abroad!

Spare no punches for my chapter review. I like a good honest critique. I'll be constructive too, I'll definitely have a read before the deadline. I'll spread the word too re site.

I have no idea why I thought you are from the States!! I remember clicking onto someones profile and seeing USA, but it being the Christmas period and all, my brain hasn't been up to scratch! Anyway, I'm from Cornwall, now live in London. And you? I think this site is really exciting. Can't wait for more members to join!

I think the author of one of the book's I reviewed is from the States, the Pleasure Dome. Funny thing is when I reviewed the book I thought it was a UK person doing a good impression of a Jackie Collins. It's going to be interesting to see chapters from all over the place. I live in Kent myself.

I like the idea of opening chapter reviews, as most agents barely get beyond this and they're so important, and most of us can't see our work objectively so it might help us hone our stuff .. I don't know if we can submit chapters from elsewhere in our books, but maybe as long as they're the right length and make sense out of context ..

I don't really know any other writers (until now!) but I was thinking of joining a creative writing class. I'm looking forward to having a look at your chapters.

[I'm a new writer so am quiet green at this lark! Will make a lot of mistakes due to being new to using computers. Any way have started writing and I'm having trouble on how to work out chapters! but when I learn and have 3 chapters (have50,000 words?) No chapters ? Any way when sorted (need some advice!) will try ? to send to you./quote]

Hey David,
Welcome aboard, we are all more or less newbies here. The site's only been up for about a month or so I think.

I don't think you have to worry too much about chapter numbers, it's the word count that is important. Don't exceed 10,000 words and if you want to qualify for the professional review by being in the monthly top 3 then it has to have a minimum of 6,000 words.

Cheers,

Bob

Hi David

I've only been on the site for a week myself and have had some very helpful feedback. I also find reviewing other people's work helpful for my own writing. It makes me think more about structure and stuff.
