This shows the advantages of the new system of giving the critiques to novel openings (although, as someone who would have received one for a short story had it reached the charts a month earlier, it pains me to admit it). Under the old system, The Lonely Tree would have been consigned (if such a fate can have a negative side) to the Best Sellers list but, because it did so at position 9 it would never have received a critique which would, for one of the most popular pieces on this site, have been a terrible shame.
