In New York, the judge has ruled in favour of JKR and against Steven Vander Ark who wanted to turn his popular Harry Potter Lexicon website into a book.

I know opinion on YWO was divided when the case first began. Personally I think all authors or would-be authors should be pleased. Just because Jo Rowling is already wealthy, doesn't mean someone else should be able to publish what are effectively her background notes without her permission.

Hoping it's not subscription only, the full story is at the Bookseller.

I would have linked to the original lexicon, but it appears to have become defunct.

I agree. I never thought this guy should be allowed to use her work to make money. I know other books about the HP world have been published, but JKR was going to publish her own encyclopedia of her own work and this guy trying to do the same infringes on her right to publish her own material. I'm very glad they found in her favour. The work this guy was attempting to publish is apparently very poor anyway. I'd rather get the official version.
