In general, if a book is considered very marketable by a publisher, and they think they will make money, they are not going to be concerned if it has been on an Internet site. For example, we published a book called Bufflehead Sisters which was available to buy by paperback, it sold very well and resulted in a two book deal with Penguin, who will publish their own version and another book by the writer. If a publisher thinks they will do well with a book then this generally over rides others considerations as long as the the author retains all rights and has not entered into any other agreement which may conflict with their ability to sell a book, neither of which apply by uploading or publishing here.
