YouWriteOn has been funded by the Arts Council since 2006 to help new writers to develop and the Arts Council fund critiques from editors for leading publishers for highly rated writers. In 2007, YouWriteOn independently published Bufflehead Sisters by Patricia J. DeLois, one of our highly rated writers. As a result of her sales success, the author gained a two book deal with Penguin this Summer. This publishing project is our own independent initiative to help other new writers, and to introduce them to the value of feedback .

‘Writing isn’t just a job that stops at six-thirty… It’s a mad, sexy, sad, scary, obsessive, ruthless, joyful, and utterly, utterly personal thing. There’s not the writer and then me; there’s just me. All of my life connects to the writing. All of it.’
